Come visit three Christmas markets in different regions of France! One of the wonderful things about Christmas in Europe is Christmas Markets. France has its share! Here are three of them, Alsace (the region closest to Germany), Provence (has its own southern style), and Paris. You’ll see some similarities and some differences.
Hope you enjoy them. (These are not my own videos, but those of other travelers.)
The first Christmas video is in Alsace, home of the most legendary Christmas markets in France. In this area (including Colmar and Strasbourg) you’ll see the most extensive Christmas markets in France, though all of them are just as enjoyable. Be sure to dress warmly, though. Hot drinks, pastries, and other Market delicacies won’t warm you us as much as a layer of down and a warm hat (and scarf!)
Now we travel to Provence for its version of the Christmas Market. This one is in Aix-en-Provence, one of my favorite towns in Provence. Here, you’ll see the famous fountain in the central part of town.
Last but not least, the Paris Christmas Market. I have been to this Christmas Market, which lines the Champs-Elysées as you go toward the Arch de Triomphe in the 8th district.
You may do your France traveling in the spring, summer, and fall. But if you are fortunate to be in France during the month of December, be sure to enjoy the unique experience of a French Christmas Market!
