Is Paris Calling You This Year?
You have a trip to Paris on your schedule this year…
Or maybe you’re only dreaming about it. This may be your year to go!
If so, this exciting news is for you! I have just published the 2026 Edition of Magical Paris: Over 100 Things to Do Across Paris.
The year I left Paris permanently, I had this book on my heart. It was the book I wished I’d had for orientation, for ideas, and for discovering unusual places.
How much easier it would have been to explore the city!
That’s because all 20 districts are laid out in an organized fashion, so you’ll never get lost. Instead, you’d have the joy of doing what few other visitors do: visit the entire city (or at least some of the residential neighborhoods far from the tourist crowds).
Because there’s more to Paris than the travel guides tell you.
I designed the book exactly how I would have wanted an ideal travel book to be.
First, a book that covers the whole wonderful city of Paris, instead of only the tourist highlights.
Second, a book that separates practical details from the actual monuments, sites, and excursions you want to know about.
Third, a book that doesn’t have so MUCH information that you don’t need, so that you can’t find what you DO need.

In addition, it includes a section called Special Categories. That’s where you’ll answer the questions,
How can I find…
- Antiques
- Info on boat rides, bikes, tour buses
- Family-friendly
- Best panoramic terraces
- Best reasonable or chic shopping
Etc.
… You get the idea. There are many categories here that may interest you, updated for 2026, like the rest of the book.
This book is so different from other Paris travel books that you’ll want to check it out.
Here is what one traveler had to say about Magical Paris:
We used Magical Paris from the time we arrived at CDG Airport. The section on Practical Information will put you on course about a lot of things, taking the guesswork out of just being there. The language guide even includes pronunciation and basic vocabulary. We were in Paris for three weeks and had an aggressive itinerary. We wanted to see most of the arrondissements. There are lots of “basics,” in the book as well as some of the author’s favorites.
I encourage anyone going to Paris to buy this book, read it, and take it with you. There are enough activities here for everyone in your travel group. For any future travel to Paris, I will definitely use this guide again. It makes Paris truly magical!!! You will love it…I assure you.
(A real review from a reader who bought and used Magical Paris.)

What are some ways Paris has changed from the last Magical Paris book?
You can easily use an outdated travel book, but it gives you peace of mind to have the latest version. (Some places are closed, have changed hours, or changed pricing. You don’t want any negative surprises for things you could have easily read about, right?)
There have been quite a few changes in Paris. Most pricing has increased slightly. Some prices haven’t increased at all, while a minimum number have increased dramatically. Nothing too great to stop your travels, though. (Don’t worry.)

The Louvre Museum has substantially increased its admission price. In addition, the Paris Visit Travel Pass has increased significantly, too, since it now covers all five zones around Paris. (But there are other options!) With access to five zones, you don’t have to add a supplement to go to Versailles, to Disneyland Paris, or to and from airports. All of that is included, so of course it costs more.
The Magical Paris guide gives all the main public travel options, and I have some recommendations you’ll want to know about. In the book, I explain all local travel, so you won’t be dazed or confused when you get off the plane (having had little sleep) and try to get into Paris and your hotel or apartment from the airport. (Speaking of apartments, city taxes on apartment rentals have also increased. A lot.)
A couple of places are closed temporarily for renovation, such as the Pompidou Center (for modern art) and the Nissim Camondo House. The Notre Dame Cathedral is OPEN, however, as are most of the places you want to see.
Magical Paris will provide all current pricing and opening hours as well as plenty of ideas for new things to see, surprising events and destinations, and tips for a better trip. It’s easy to carry around and easy to follow.
Find out about these and other changes, as well as all the wonderful things you can do all across Paris in the new updated 2026 version of Magical Paris.
The paperback is available at the Oliver’s France Store and at Amazon, and at physical bookstores upon ordering. (At the time of this writing, eBooks are available at Barnes and Noble and Apple, though still “in process” on Amazon. It will be available within one week.)
Bon Voyage to the city of lights! Magical Paris will help you light the way!
